The generosity of 446 organ donors saved 1,200 lives, reaching new milestone in the organization’s history

In collaboration with donor families and hospital partners across the region, LifeCenter Northwest achieved a record number of lives saved through organ donation in 2025, the most in the nonprofit’s 28 years of service.

In 2025, LifeCenter Northwest:

  • Helped 485 individuals donate healing tissues, like heart valves, skin, and ligaments, for transplant.
  • Coordinated 1,318 organ transplants to centers across the country, nearly 200 more than the year before.
  • Reached historic milestone by saving the lives of 1,200 patients waiting for a transplant – an increase of 100% over the past decade, and the most in the organization’s history.

“The generosity of organ donors in this community continues to inspire our team to save more lives,” said Santokh Gill, CEO of LifeCenter Northwest. “We’re grateful for donors’ families, and for all the healthcare professionals, who partner with us around the clock to save lives through organ donation. Collaboration and compassion allow us to turn moments of loss into opportunities for hope and healing for patients desperately waiting for transplants.”

LifeCenter Northwest has served Alaska, Montana, North Idaho and Washington since 1997 as the region’s organ procurement organization, managing the safe recovery and transport of deceased donor organs and tissues to patients in need of lifesaving and healing transplants.

Beyond clinical coordination and public education to increase donor registration, LifeCenter Northwest supports the families of organ donors during the difficult days of the donation process and long after. The organization’s Donor Family Aftercare program offers families long-term grief support, including personal calls and letters between donor families and recipients.

At 15, Mozae “Mo” Allenbach of Seattle chose to register as an organ donor when she received her driver’s permit. Though her life was cut short only months later, Mo’s generous decision saved five people and helped heal many more. Mo’s mother, Jeannie Allenbach, received a letter from her daughter’s lung recipient, who shared immense gratitude for their renewed health thanks to Mo’s gift.

“We hope that Mo’s legacy will be to encourage teens to be as caring as she was — to seek joy, but choose life,” said Jeannie.

As of Jan. 1, 2026, the United Network for Organ Sharing reports over 100,000 Americans on the organ transplant waiting list, with more than 3,000 patients residing in the Pacific Northwest.
