Family and friends dedicated heartfelt messages with roses in honor of Joel’s legacy

LifeCenter Northwest recently partnered with Harborview Medical Center in hosting the Road to the Rose Parade event at Harborview in Seattle, Washington, on November 27 in honor of local organ, eye, and tissue donor, Joel Eggert.

This was an event in preparation for the 2019 Rose Parade*, which will be held in Pasadena, California on New Year’s Day.

Family, friends, fellow musicians, and hospital staff joined us in honoring Joel’s legacy of generosity that still lives on in recipients of his organs, cornea, and tissue. Joel was known as an artist, musician, fan of motorcycles, and a loyal friend and family man. You can read more about Joel and the 2019 Rose Parade here.

It was an afternoon that included rose dedications, Joel’s favorite music, food, and the completion of his floragraph. (A floragraph is a floral portrait made out of organic materials, such as dried flowers and seeds.) Joel’s family had the opportunity to put the final touch on his floragraph by filling in his eyebrows. The portrait is among more than 44 floragraphs that will be placed on the Rose Parade Donate Life Float.

Joel’s fellow musician friends performed a few of Joel’s favorite songs in remembrance of his love for music – especially rock.

LifeCenter Northwest is proud to sponsor and be joined by Joel’s family at the 130th Rose Parade. The theme for this year’s Donate Life Float is “Rhythm of the Heart,” which highlights the musical diversity and rhythms of Africa.
