This week, LifeCenter Northwest is celebrating the 2nd annual National DMV appreciation week, recognized September 25-29.
We are taking this time to say thank you to the Montana Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) and the Washington Department of Licensing (DOL), along with DMVs across the nation, who play an invaluable role in increasing the number of registered organ, eye, and tissue donors.
To support MVD/DOL staff in understanding their role in asking the donation question, senior leadership offers the opportunity for LifeCenter Northwest to provide ongoing donation education and support to all their driver licensing staff. Through their extraordinary efforts and collaboration, we work together in raising awareness about organ and tissue donation.
“Our partners at the MVD & DOL are an important part of saving lives through the miracle of donation and transplantation. We are so thankful for their dedication and unwavering commitment to serving this community,” said Megan Clark, Vice President of LifeCenter Northwest.
Each year, our partners ask thousands of customers if they would like to join the organ, eye and tissue donor registry. In Montana and Washington state, 99 percent of donor registrations occur while receiving a driver’s license or identification card. This dedication to asking the donation question has Montana and Washington achieving some of the highest registry percentages in the nation.
Saving lives starts through the DOL and MVD with just one question. We are proud of our collaborative relationship that serves to save and heal lives in our communities.
