Erica “Fish Fairy” Walli

Organ Donor Hero

When Anchor Point woman Erica Walli, 49, lost her life in an ATV accident, her family learned that she had a rare blood type, and saw hope in Walli’s choice to be an organ donor.

“Erica left this life as she lived it,” said Adrienne Sweeney, Walli’s sister. “She believed in sharing life’s blessings — from her big hugs to the last fish she gave away, and finally, her ultimate gift of organ donation. She was a giver in the truest sense.”

In a Facebook post to Erica’s extended family and enormous circle of friends, Sweeney emphasized the truly miraculous act of organ donation.

She adds, “… the prayers have been answered for those [waiting recipients] who happen to have the same rare blood type. Consider ‘allllllll the feels’ they are experiencing right now after going down their own uncertain road. Then imagine later on their confusion when they have the sudden urge to go fishing everyday!”

It’s all, they say, “truly epic” — just like their Angel Girl, Erica.

“She believed in sharing life’s blessings — from her big hugs to the last fish she gave away, and finally, her ultimate gift of organ donation. She was a giver in the truest sense.”
