Each year LifeCenter Northwest (LCNW) employees nominate colleagues who exemplify the five core values of our organization; integrity, respect, collaboration, service, and courageous leadership, for our annual Values Award. We are proud to announce our 2017 award winner, Emily Mock!
As a Hospital Development Program Manager, Emily is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing organ and tissue donation programs at assigned hospitals. This role helps build and harness strong working relationships within hospitals and serves as a knowledgeable resource for all medical, professional, and internal partners regarding organ and tissue donation.
Having started at LCNW only 18 months ago, Emily has excelled in all aspects of her role. In this short amount of time she has overseen support and education at Harborview Medical Center, the largest donor hospital in our service area.
“I continue to learn from the Harborview staff and have undoubtedly become a better member of the Hospital Development team because of the talented people I have the privilege of working with every day at Harborview.”
Rachel Houck, Director of Hospital Development and one of many coworkers who nominated Emily for the award, mentioned how she “demonstrates all of our values in every interaction.”
Emily is passionate about her job and says the most rewarding part is “knowing that I am a small piece of the puzzle that allows a family to find some comfort after a tragic loss and a transplant recipient to breathe new life. Keeping this in the forefront makes what I do not feel like a job”.
As the winner, Emily will not only be recognized among her peers in the office, but also has the opportunity to travel to Pasadena for the 2018 Rose Parade where LCNW participates in the Donate Life Float each year.
She is grateful for this opportunity and said she is excited for, “Everything! From seeing the floragraphs and Donate Life float up close, meeting our guests of honor and other donor families, to connecting with staff at other Organ Procurement Organizations, and attending the Rose Bowl.”
